14 March 2022
Training for school development/action teams within the regional project “Action for Reducing Inequalities in Education” (ARISE) was organised from March 9 to 11, 2022.
The training was attended by representatives of school development/action teams from five schools that were selected through a public competition to participate in the project (Primary School "Vozd Karađorđe" Leskovac, Primary School "8. Oktobar" Vlasotince, Primary School "8. Septembar" Pirot, Primary School "Heroj Ivan Muker" Smederevska Palanka and Primary School "Vuk Karadžić" Ćuprija).
The training program is based on the principle that the process of improving the climate and culture of the school is a continuous process that requires commitment and partnership among all members of the community. Activities are adapted to the individual needs of each school and encourage the creation of a support network, mutual learning and practicing of what has been learned. Given that the goal of the ARISE project is the development of measures to reduce the impact of poverty on the education of students, the focus of the training was on the values that are the foundation of justice in education.
The goal of the ARISE project is to support the inclusion of students with low socio-economic status through strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations to participate in policy development and advocacy in the field of equality and justice in education and through piloting school-level interventions aimed at supporting students with low socio-economic status. The project is implemented in the period from April 2020 to April 2024 and is financed by the European Commission through the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance of the European Union (IPA).
