During the two-day meeting held on October 12 and 13, 2023, over 40 representatives of local institutions and organizations from local self-governments, which are involved in the "Together in transition" project, gathered in Vrnjačka Banja.
The goal of the gathering was to exchange the experiences of local governments in supporting students from vulnerable groups, as well as to discuss the possibilities for improving existing and adopting new measures at the local level.
The main topic discussed by the participants was the establishment and work of intersectoral bodies, that is, possible activities in accordance with the statutes of local self-governments were considered.
Also, the ways of establishing intersectoral bodies were presented - what the structure looks like, what are the principles and legal framework of the establishment and how the coordination of different institutions at the local level takes place.
At the end, participants considered proposals for the composition of the local intersectoral body, and discussed local challenges and ways to overcome those challenges.
The meeting was attended by representatives of institutions from the following local self-governments - Aleksinac, Bečej, Bor, Ćuprija, Knjaževac, Leskovac, Niš, Novi Sad, Surdulica and Žabalj.
