The Centre for Education Policy, Belgrade, in cooperation with University of Cambridge Faculty of Education, is pleased to announce the meeting of the International Teacher Leadership project team and the meeting and practice-sharing of teachers from Western Balkan Countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia) and England.

The event will take place on May 24-26 in Fruska Gora, Serbia. The meeting is open to all interested parties.

Teaching Profession for the 21st Century - Final event of the ATEPIE project

Final conference of the project “Advancing teacher professionalism for inclusive, quality and relevant education” (ATEPIE)” was held on the 2nd April in Sarajevo.

The conference aimed to contribute to the strengthening of the professional role of teachers in the Western Balkans by initiating dialogue on the newly developed Framework of Teacher Competences (FTC) and its potential use in bridging the gap between policy and practice of teacher education and professionalization of the teaching profession.

The third meeting of the ATEPIE Regional Task Force held in Neum

The third meeting of the ATEPIE Regional Task Force (RTF) was held in Neum (Bosnia and Herzegovina) from 27th to 31st August, back to back with the Western Balkan’s elementary school teachers Conference „Change Starts in me“. This opportunity was used to finalize competence list developed in Sarajevo and to get the teachers’ opinions.

The conference was co-hosted by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the Netherlands and the Department for Education and Training, Belgium.

Final event of the International Teacher Leadership programme

11 April 2012

“Learn from the experience of others”, final event of the programme of support to teachers under the title International Teacher Leadership took place in Sarajevo, on March 29th,  at the Primary School “Aleksa Santic”. NGO proMENTE Social Research, in cooperation with the Open Society Foundations (OSF), Open Society Fund Bosnia and Herzegovina and British Council Bosnia and Herzegovina, organised the event. The occasion was used to award the teachers and schools from Bosnia and Herzegovina  with the certificates for the successful participation in ITL programme.

The Future of the Teaching Profession

Conference „The Future of the Teaching Profession“  was held on February 16 and 17, at the University of Cambridge.

This two-day event was devoted to exploration of research and policy in relation to teacher quality and the development of the teaching profession. The seminar included more than 70 representatives from government, academia, unions and schools from 28 countries.

Within the session Towards a Professional Future, Gordana Miljević from the Centre for Education Policy presented successful  regional  cooperation in South East Europe within the Education Support Program of the Open Society Foundations (ESP/OSF) projects   aiming to promote educational justice by the research evidence based policy and practice actions.  The actions are  focused on empowering teachers and parents to build partnerships and have a stronger voice in policies and decision making.

The first meeting of the Regional Task Force

21 December 2011

The first meeting of the Regional Task Force of the project „Advancing teacher professionalism for inclusive, quality and relevant education” (ATEPIE) will be held on 22 – 24 January 2012.

This meeting will gather repsresentatives of the national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Serbia, project coordination team, and Mr. Graham Donaldson, international consultant engaged within this project.

The main goal of the meeting is to discuss the NQF development methodology. To inform the discussion the following topics will be covered:  national qualification frameworks and current international trends; wider vision of educational aims in participating countries and schooling systems in which teachers in the country work; the roles envisaged for teachers in relation to these aims and systems.
